2023 Clash On The Coast Results — Sumer Johnson and Andrew Clayton Triumphant

Sumer Johnson and Andrew Clayton are the respective strongwoman and strongman champions of the 2023 Clash on the Coast . The contest took place on Mar. 24-26, 2023, in Hilton Head, SC. The strongwoman division featured was U82KG. The strongman division featured was U105KG. Both portions of the strength contest included twelve athletes. Johnson claimed her victory by four points over runner-up Jodi Kennedy. Jessica Mitchell rounded out the Woman’s podium in third. On the Men’s side, Clayton won by a slim half-point over Dan Hughes, while Matt McKeegan came in third place. An unmitigated powerhouse, Sherine Marcelle entered 2023 with big plans and a roadmap to fulfill them . The superstar powerlifter seems to have fulfilled her mission. On Mar 25, 2023, during the World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) Femme Fatale III, Marcelle (90KG) captured a monstrous 262.3-kilogram (579-pound) raw back squat while wearing a lifting belt and knee sleeves. According to Open Powerlifting , the mark is an all-time World Record in the 90-kilogram weight class . It surpasses Samantha Rice, who squatted 257.5 kilograms (567.7 pounds) at the 2022 United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) Pro Raw Championships . It had been a while since anyone in the powerlifting community has seen Danny Grigsby step onto a sanctioned lifting platform. In his first competitive appearance since July 2022, the deadlifting dynamo “pulled” his way back into the immediate purview. On Mar. 25, 2023, at the World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) Metroflex Battle for the Yard 8 , Grigsby (110KG) captured a 467.5-kilogram (1,030.6-pound) raw deadlift while wearing just a lifting belt . Grigsby utilized a sumo stance and a hook grip. The athlete’s pull is an all-time raw World Record in the 110-kilogram weight class . It surpasses Grigsby’s peer, Jamal Browner , by 12.4 kilograms (27.5 pounds). At times, Joe Sullivan seemingly expands what should be possible for anyone on the mortal plane. He resembles more of a powerlifting powerhouse than a mere human being with ridiculous strength . The powerlifting dynamo once again showed why in his latest competitive appearance. On Mar. 25, 2023, during the World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) Metroflex Battle for the Yard 8, Sullivan scored a 386-kilogram (850.9-pound) raw back squat while wearing a lifting belt , knee sleeves, and wrist wraps. For Sullivan, who competed in the 100-kilogram weight class, the mark is an all-time World Record in his weight class. According to Open Powerlifting , Sullivan’s successful lift surpassed his own previous record milestone of 384.9 kilograms (848.7 pounds) from the 2022 United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) Pro Raw Championships.
